A quote from a Camp Fire Survivor who received our services:
"You make a difference. I hope you can someday come visit our town when we rebuild. It is actually a Paradise to us....Thank you again from the bottom of my heart."

From Pam Shore, LMFT, Sacramento TRN volunteer:
In the last month, I have seen our (all volunteer) EMDR Trauma Recovery Network (TRN), utilized in Chico/Paradise in such significant ways. It’s made a believer out of me. EMDR Therapists have been travelling into the area from Sacramento, Roseville, Auburn, Nevada City and Redding to provide free EMDR therapy to Camp Fire survivors. Chico therapists have been doing the same. However, you can imagine how difficult it is for them, dealing with their own losses, or their friends’ and family members’ losses, while hearing grief after grief related to the fire in their daily work. Working with people so soon after a big disaster was a first for me, and much more affecting than I had anticipated. I have a new appreciation for those who do "first-responding" all the time. Conversely it has been energizing and exciting to see how the protocols that we trained in (over the last 4 years) work. And work so well. The results we are seeing are truly amazing. I am proud to say that our network, to date, has seen over 170 people. And the stories are legion…of so many others…helping, giving, serving.

I want this story of one of the clients who received our TRN services to encourage all of you:
Individual had 5 sessions. Vast reduction in symptoms and resumption of the clients ability to manage their life. The client stated, "I really want to show others they can make it to the other side. I'm telling everyone I know they need to get EMDR". The client has a picture of their vehicle on fire as they drove it thru the fire. The client said "This is my deliverance picture ".

From Margaux Helm, LMFT, Sacramento TRN volunteer:
[The clients] were a delight to work with and makes me want to be part of the Paradise community! Such a conscious, supportive, and creative people. Both of their trauma was reduced significantly. I am hopeful that the treatment will continue to help reduce symptoms and help them navigate their next steps of recovery.
